Sonarr watches RSS feeds from Usenet and BitTorrent indexers for new episodes of the shows on its list, then grabs, sorts and renames each file according to rules the user sets. It can scan an existing library to find missing episodes and, when a better format shows up, replace a copy already on disk, for example moving from DVD to Blu-ray quality. If a download fails it tries another release, and a manual search shows every candidate along with the reason one was skipped. Downloads go through SABnzbd or NZBGet, and Kodi and Plex receive notifications, library updates and metadata. The PVR runs on Windows, Linux, macOS and Raspberry Pi and is released under GPL-3.0.
