Interactive Tree of Life
Life on Earth across 11 scientific trees, with traits, fossils and habitats side by side.

Ptree lays the tree of life out through eleven different reference trees instead of one. Taxonomy views come from GBIF, the Catalogue of Life and ITIS; descent views from the Open Tree of Life, EOL and NCBI; microbial views from GTDB for bacteria and archaea, ICTV for viruses and SILVA for ribosomal RNA; and two specialty trees cover plant names (World Flora Online) and fossil taxa by geologic age (the Paleobiology Database).
Organisms can be compared on dozens of trait fields, among them Gram stain, temperature and pH range, longevity, migration, diet, body mass, climate and conservation status, with numbered source references next to the values.
