Developer Tools Worth a Look

A developer tool is not good because someone said so; it is good when it fits how you already work. So this list does not rank anything. It lays things out newest first, and if something you skim overlaps with a problem you have right now, that is your answer.

Many entries are GitHub repositories, so you can see star counts alongside the last commit date. Maintenance matters especially for tools. For something you touch daily, like an editor plugin or a build chain, whether it is still being worked on is a stronger signal than how many stars it has.
