whetū

Whetuu is a cross-shell prompt that behaves the same in fish, bash, and zsh. It renders its status line in about 2 milliseconds. That line carries your current Git state, with a syntax-highlighted history picker sitting behind it.

There is no config file. One binary, and it runs. Failed commands are dropped from history, so scrolling back does not keep handing you your own typos. Written in Zig, it trades configurability for the property of working the moment it is installed.
