Hilo

Everyone gets the same seven-letter word each day and five guesses to find it. Hilo drops hot-or-cold colouring: every letter you type comes back as higher, lower or correct, meaning later in the alphabet, earlier in the alphabet, or the right letter in the right slot. One guess therefore returns seven clues at once, with a range bar under each position showing what is still possible, narrowing to something like F-Z. Opening with middle letters such as M or N halves those ranges fastest, which turns a guess into a binary search.

A win is scored with a Deduction Quotient out of 1000 that rewards how sharply you narrowed the field, and a streak survives one missed day but not two in a row. Finishing opens a card with the day's word, its pronunciation and definitions. There is also an archive of past puzzles that leaves your stats untouched, private groups for playing against friends, statistics with a weekly recap, and shareable result images. English and Romanian are the two languages available.
