What does oos check?
Find out whether others have the same problem. User reports and official information appear side by side.
Reports and availability
A report describes a user's experience. Device or network problems may also be included. When reports are limited, check official information too.
When we show increasing reports
Comparison starts seven days after the first report, with at least 20 reports across four days in the preceding seven days. Reports are increasing when the last 30 minutes has at least five reports, at least three times the previous seven-day half-hour average, and at least three distinct network identifiers. This is separate from official confirmation of an outage.
Limiting repeat reports
We count one report per service per browser every 30 minutes, up to 12 reports across all services per hour. A network can submit up to 60 reports in ten minutes. People sharing a network may share this limit. Different devices or browsers can be counted separately.
Official information with a source
We link to official status pages where available. Some services provide a public API from which we retrieve current information. The scope of an official page may differ from your feature or region.
Updates and retention
While a page is visible, report totals refresh about once a minute. Official API results are cached for up to one minute. Reports are kept for 30 days and removed by a daily job. If an error occurs, the last available totals remain with an error notice.
