Type in an address and what you want to build, say an 8x8 backyard office, and HomeCat comes back with a few design concepts. You pick one and keep adjusting it through a chat, and the result is a set of code-compliant drawings: floor plan, site plan and a 3D render. The team began by helping people design sheds, noticed how many of them really wanted an office in the yard, and the site now also covers decks, garages, pergolas and other backyard builds. By the founders' own account, zoning rules, HOA restrictions and similar edge cases are not fully handled yet.
